CHILDREN
Our kids are not only the future of Woodland Park, they are part of our church today. God has given parents the primary influence in their kids’ lives, teaching by example what it means to love and follow Jesus. But we, as the church, have this amazing privilege and responsibility to come alongside families to help nurture their children’s faith. wpKids isn’t babysitting, it’s not childcare (even though we care greatly!)—it’s helping our kids discover who Jesus is so they begin to understand the love of God and develop a growing hunger to know God for themselves! If you have a desire to nurture faith in the next generation, come join the team!
WELCOME TEAM
Welcome Team. Hundreds of people come to our building every weekend and throughout the week. Some have never been to church, and others have been following Jesus for decades. Each person is in a different season of life, bringing various emotions and personal experiences. Jesus welcomes all! Every follower of Jesus is called to extend to others the welcome of Christ that we’ve received. But our Welcome Team serves as frontline hosts. So, if you love Jesus and love people, if you can smile and put people at ease—you can join the team and help Woodland Park grow in showing hospitality to all people!
FOOD PANTRY
When we care for a person’s basic needs, we validate their worth as someone created and loved by God—and it often opens a door to tell them about the love of Jesus. Every Tuesday morning, people from our community come to our Food Pantry. They’re met by friendly faces and open arms. Volunteers help by shopping and shelving, welcoming visitors, selecting and loading groceries, and sharing the message of the gospel. Each one of us is called to demonstrate this kind of compassion in our daily lives. But maybe God is asking you to dedicate time each week for this purpose? We’d love for you to join us!
STUDENTS
Students are not only the future of our church, they are part of the present! God has given parents the primary influence in their students’ lives, teaching by example what it means to love and follow Jesus. But we as the church have this awesome privilege and responsibility to come alongside families to encourage their students’ faith. wpStudents isn’t entertainment (even though they have a lot of fun!)—it’s helping our teenagers understand who Jesus is so they know their identity, how to live in today’s culture, how to love others, and how to discern truth for themselves. If you have a desire to encourage faith in the next generation, join the team!
WORSHIP
Worship is more than music, sound, and lights. It’s not just skill and talent—it’s sacrifice and service. The people who volunteer with wpWorship have a twofold purpose: primarily, to direct their own adoration, thanksgiving, and devotion to Jesus. And, secondly, to encourage and equip our church to do the same. Leading others in worship is essentially discipleship; it’s facilitating our shared response to Who God is and what He’s done. The truth is, every follower of Jesus is called to worship! But if you have a heart for worship and to help others worship—join the team, develop your skills, and lead people to Jesus!
GROUP LEADERS
One of the most vital aspects of discipleship is being connected to other followers of Jesus. In a group, we’re invited to encourage each other; love each other; bear each other’s burdens. Every member is a contributor, learning to use their gifts to build up the church. Group Leaders foster this kind of community in various ways like teaching Scripture, guiding discussion, prompting prayer, and organizing outreach. A leader isn’t always at the front—they’re often found behind the scenes and alongside others—always pointing people to Jesus. Do you want to make a difference this way? Come learn what it means to be a Group Leader.
