The search team is charged with soliciting and vetting potential candidates and recommending to the General Council of Elders (GCE) any they deem as fitting what we are looking for. Here are the documents outlining exactly what we are looking for:

When the GCE has a sense that God is calling a man to be our Sr. Pastor, they will present him to the body for a final affirmation.

The Pastor search team is headed by Bobby Dalrymple, member of the elder body, and is comprised of a cross-section of the church, trying to ensure that the whole body is represented. The search team is:



Lill Coker - Lill and her husband, Harold, joined Woodland Park 24 years ago. She has been a part of every single Bible study she could be a part of for all 24 of those years. This past summer Lill hosted the Bible studies on her back porch and taught Sunday school. She has received a 9-year pin from Awana for volunteering in Awana until she began wearing hearing aids.  She and Harold have been married 61 years. They have three children, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Bailey Martin - Bailey is the daughter of Will and Leigh Ann Martin and is a student at Chattanooga State. Bailey has attended WPBC since she was four years of age. She was very active in the children and student ministries and is currently involved with the college ministry. Bailey has served as a leader for Kidz Camp and VBS and was part of the youth praise band in Sr. High.

Jan Silvious - Jan has been married to Charlie more than 50 years. They have three sons and two precious daughters-in-love:  David, Sandi, Jonathan, Aaron, and Heather. They also have five grandchildren. Jan, Charlie, and their sons came to WPBC in 1981 in the very early days of Wayne Barber’s ministry. Jan has taught an adult Connections Class for many of those years, and Charlie has served as an usher.

Walter Dawson - Walter has been married to Sylvia for 39 years, and they have three adult children. Their oldest is daughter Cassandra who works in the family business and is married to Greg Albee. They are both involved with the Vine Class at WPBC and have three children (Skye, Caden, and Alexis). Next is daughter Catrina who is married to Barry Stover. They are missionaries with New Tribes Mission, are currently serving at the New Tribes Bible Institute in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and have three children (Lillian, Nathan, and Madelynn). Their youngest is Clinton who is married to Carolyn. He manages the family business, and they have one child (Masie). Walter and Sylvia have been at WPBC since 2001 and have been involved with the Grace Class since 2001. Walter has served on the Mission Council for the last six years and has been a Mission Deacon since 2013.

Wesley Deschaine - Wesley has been married to Angel for 14 years. They have two sons.  Mason is a 5th grader, and their younger son Rhett is a 3rd grader. Wesley and Angel have been at WPBC since 2011. Wesley has served as an Awana leader, is a SALT graduate, and has served as a deacon in the children’s ministry since 2015. Angel has served as a nursery coordinator for two years and also has been an Awana leader.

Jarod Raley - Jarod has been married to Cristina for 22 years. They have three daughters. Melaney is a college student, and Alayna and Amy are sophomores in High School. Jarod has been at WPBC since 1986 and Cristina since 1995. Jarod has been active in the choir and worship ministry since 1996, is a SALT graduate, has been involved with Walking Worthy and is presently serving on the Mission Council. Cristina has been active in the choir since 1998.

Bobby Dalrymple [chairman] - Bobby has been married to April for 28 years. They have two adult children. Aaron is a college student, and their daughter Kelsey is an elementary school teacher and is married to Thomas Scott. Bobby and April have been at WPBC since 2000. Bobby has served as a Connection Class leader, is a SALT graduate, and has served as an elder since 2010. April has been active in the choir and worship ministry since 2000.
