Title: God is Faithful to Keep His Promises
Verse: Psalm 100:5
“For the LORD is good; His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.” Psalm 100:5
Has anyone ever made a promise to you and later found that they were unable to keep that promise? How did you feel about that person at the time? How do you feel about that person to this day? People often make promises that they fully intend to keep, but sometimes, due to circumstances beyond their control, they cannot follow through. Since humans are not perfect and do not have the ability to control human circumstance, they are not always able to orchestrate the best of well-intentioned plans.
He is Faithful to Fulfill His Promises
Psalm 100:5 says, “For the LORD is good; His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.” ALL generations of mankind have found God to be faithful to His promises! Since He CAN control circumstances, we can be sure that God will do what His Word tells us that He will do. Even when there seems to be no way for impending events to be altered, God can bring about any number of “surprises” to accomplish His will and keep His promises. These kinds of miracles which often take our breath away by their incredible results, give us real proof, evidence that God cares and is faithful to His Word. By trusting God’s Word daily, we can be assured over and over again of His presence in our lives and His faithfulness to His children.
His Promises and Plans are Better
My betrothed was assigned to the far east directly out of his military basic training. Since that was not the normal sequence of events in the US Air Force, we could not understand why he had to go so far away so soon and prevent us from carrying out our marriage plans right away. After 2 1/2 years, we were able to see how God’s hand had specifically designed a much better beginning for our marriage because of that initial assignment. He was caring for us and setting circumstances in place for us far beyond any time frame we could imagine just then! When God seems far away and His intervention unlikely, we can be sure of His faithfulness to keep His promises. Psalm 89:14 says, “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; love and faithfulness go before You.”
How has He made His faithfulness known to you or to someone you love?
How do you plan to show your faithfulness to Him in return?
